Boarding

We treat boarding as more than just a kennel stay — it’s structured, secure, and designed for dogs who thrive in a calm, disciplined environment.

✅ Step 1: Reservation Request

Clients submit a boarding request through our website or by contacting us directly. We confirm space availability and review your dog’s eligibility (must be crate-trained, behavior assessed, and current on vaccinations).

✅ Step 2: Intake & Evaluation

First-time boarders must complete a brief intake form. For behaviorally complex dogs, we may require an in-person consultation before accepting the stay. Dogs must arrive with food, medication (if needed), and any approved comfort items.

✅ Step 3: Structured Stay

While boarding, dogs follow a calm, consistent routine including:

  • Daily potty walks and playtime

  • Crate rest for decompression

  • Basic manners reinforcement (no jumping, barking, or pulling)

  • Optional add-on training sessions for mental stimulation

We are not a free-for-all daycare — your dog will be cared for with intention, structure, and safety.

✅ Step 4: Departure & Debrief

At pickup, we provide a brief behavior summary and notify you of any issues or improvements noted during the stay.

At Praeceptor K9, boarding isn’t chaotic, crowded, or careless. It’s structured, intentional, and handled by professionals who understand canine behavior.

Here’s what you can count on:

✅ Structure and Routine

Your dog will follow a predictable daily routine that includes potty breaks, crate rest, light enrichment, and proper social boundaries. We don’t believe in overstimulation — we believe in calm, controlled care.

✅ Clean and Safe Environment

Kennels are sanitized daily, dogs are monitored regularly, and safety is non-negotiable. We follow strict intake policies to ensure all boarded dogs are healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and behaviorally appropriate for our setting.

✅ Handler Oversight

Your dog will be cared for by trained handlers — not teenagers, not volunteers. We recognize stress signals, prevent problems before they start, and maintain high behavioral standards throughout your dog’s stay.

✅ Respect for Training and Boundaries

If your dog has been through training with us or elsewhere, we maintain their structure — not undo it. If not, we reinforce calm behavior and discourage bad habits like jumping, barking, or leash-pulling.

✅ Communication

For extended stays, we provide brief updates, and we always notify you of anything concerning or noteworthy. If anything changes in your dog’s behavior, health, or needs — you’ll know.

In short: We take care of your dog like a professional, not like a pet sitter. Calm. Clean. Controlled. Always.
